Kia Stinger Model Speed Comparison
Since its debut nearly two years ago, the Kia Stinger has blown the automotive community away on a regular basis, with performance and style that challenge even lofty German rivals. Now with two model years under its belt and a third on the way, some are wondering which Kia Stinger succeeds best in one area: speed. So we’ve taken it upon ourselves to answer: which Kia Stinger is the fastest?
Currently, the highest-powered Kia Stinger models are the 2019 Kia Stinger GT, 2019 Kia Stinger GT1, and 2019 Kia Stinger GT2. These three trims all use a highly powerful 3.3L twin-turbo V6 engine that outputs 365 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, along with 376 pound-feet of torque.
Like all Stinger models, they come with a rear-wheel drive configuration, but offer available all-wheel drive. These vehicles have the latest tweaks and updates from Kia for the 2019 model year, making them the most reliable choices for fastest Kia Stinger models. Working your way up the trims gets you a variety of stylish features that enhance the speedy look, comfort, convenience and technology aspects of the 2019 Kia Stinger.
2020 Kia Stinger Release Date and Limited Edition GTS
But this may all change soon, as the 2020 Kia Stinger is expected in summer 2019. The lineup will include what could be a likely contender for fastest Kia Stinger model thus far- the Limited Edition Kia GTS.
This 2020 Stinger GTS will maintain the same powerful powertrain of the models listed above. It has an updated AWD system, however, that may put it ahead in terms of speed- a newly developed dynamic all-wheel drive system, or D-AWD. This system emphasizes the vehicle’s rear-wheel DNA, closing the behavior gap between the AWD- and RWD-equipped Stinger GT.
There are also new features to optimize handling and stability such as Slip Control and Counter Steer Detection, Transmission Shift Pattern, and Stability Control. It’s equipped with a variety of other exterior enhancements, interior premium comforts, and spiffy features. It will boast a bright orange paint color, genuine carbon fiber parts, and overall racier looks.
The 2020 Kia Stinger GTS will be a limited production, with the availability of just 800 units. So if you want to get your hands on what we believe will be the fastest Stinger (at least until next year), you better be ready to scoop this bad boy up!
