New Performance Specs for the 2022 Kia Stinger
The Kia Stinger has been turning heads since the first day it arrived in the Team Gunther Kia showroom for the 2018 model year. In the automotive world, three years isn’t a long time, but that isn’t stopping our manufacturing partner from making some substantial changes for the upcoming model year. The new performance specs for the 2022 Kia Stinger will finally place the high-performance sedan’s entire lineup on the other side of the 300-horsepower barrier. Additionally, Kia designers were hard at work updating the vehicle’s interior to deliver additional refinement for the upcoming model year. We expect the 2022 Kia Stinger to go on sale at the Team Gunther Kia showroom later this spring. Let’s take a look at a few highlights before it arrives.

The biggest change in performance output for the 2022 Stinger will come with the entry-level GT-Line trim grade. A turbocharged 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine will replace the previously used 2.0-liter, turbo four-cylinder power plant. Owners of the 2022 Stinger GT-Line will be able to use up to 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. According to the preliminary specs released by Kia, the 2022 Stinger GT-Line will have a top speed of 130 miles per hour. Please, drive carefully.
For customers who are interested in the 2022 Stinger GT1 or GT2, both of those trim grades will utilize the same twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter, V-6 engine that will produce 368 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque.
2022 Stinger New Features/Equipment
Even the most humbly outfitted iteration of the Kia Stinger is going to cast an interesting shadow, metaphorically speaking. Some of the standard and available equipment for the 2022 model is really poised to build upon that legacy. For instance, buyers will be able to have LED headlights with signature daytime running lights as standard equipment. So-called, “Stinger-Signature” LED daytime running lights and headlights are also available. The LED taillights use a new design that will run the entire width of the rear liftgate. GT1 and GT2 models will have a full array of LED taillights and turn signals.
What’s new with the interior?
A new model year, and a new base power plant call for some upgrades to the interior for the 2022 Stinger. The automaker’s designers have also added black gloss and chrome accents on the instrument panel as well as some new stitching patterns on the GT models. Ambient LED arrays will also be available.
More information will be coming before the 2022 Kia Stinger is available at the Team Gunther Kia showroom. Make sure you check back with our blog often.
