Is Kia ever going to have an all-electric vehicle?

Science fiction movies told us that we’d have flying, self-driving automobiles at this point in the 21st century. As great as the lineup of new vehicles available for sale or lease at the Team Gunther Kia truly is, we can’t help but be a little disappointed we’re still commuting on the ground. However, our manufacturing partner is ready to make the jump into the next generation of automotive technology. So, if you have been wondering, ‘Is Kia ever going to have an all-electric vehicle,’ the answer is, yes. Kia will be unveiling a completely battery-powered vehicle in the very near future. It will be called the EV6 and just about everyone at the Team Gunther Kia showroom is very excited to see it arrive. Let’s take a look at what we might be seeing soon.

Will the Kia EV6 be a crossover SUV?

Kia is being pretty tight-lipped about what its newest electric platform will have to offer. Their initial press release was light on details. However, the heavily silhouetted photos that were published seemed to tease the fact that the new EV6 will likely fall into the popular crossover SUV class. How many people it will hold or how much interior space will be available for cargo is still a mystery that likely won’t be solved until the manufacturer is ready to pull the curtain all the way back later this year.

However, if we were to make an educated guess, it seems pretty likely that the EV6 will be larger than the existing Kia Niro hybrid crossover SUV but probably smaller than the three-row Telluride

“EV6 is the embodiment of both our brand purpose, ‘Movement that inspires’, and our new design philosophy. It has been designed to inspire every journey by offering an instinctive and natural experience that improves the daily lives of our customers, and provide user ownership that is simple, intuitive and integrated. Our aim is to design the physical experience of our brand and to create bold, original and inventive electric vehicles.”

Does Kia have any more surprises?

The announcement of an all-new electric vehicle would be excited enough, but it appears that Kia isn’t done. Team Gunther Kia customers who may have been holding out for a new version of the high-performance Stinger are in luck. On March 16, Kia will be unveiling the 2022 model of the Stinger. Like its electric sibling, details about the 2022 Stinger are pretty sparse. But future buyers can likely expect to see more performance and more connectivity technology.
