How do I set up Kia UVO Link?Â
Kia has been leading the way in automotive technology for a long time. In fact, the automaker has been including its UVO infotainment system in its vehicles since 2011 or so. For the current model year, Kia has expanded its UVO technology to most of the lineup. If you have recently picked up a new Kia vehicle, you might be wondering, ‘How do I set up Kia UVO Link?’ A couple of Team Gunther Kia product experts got together to go through the setup guide. Our team used the 2021 Kia Telluride as a basis for this guide. However, for the most part, this information will apply to almost any Kia vehicle built in the last couple of years. Let’s take a closer look at this technology.Â

UVO Link Activation Guide
You will need to turn your key to the accessory position so that you can access the vehicle’s touchscreen. Once the touchscreen finishes its boot-up sequence, you will need to:
- Press SETUPÂ
- Press the UVO iconÂ
- Click the ‘Activate UVO’ optionÂ
Be sure to read through and accept system terms of service and click SUBMIT. You will need to enter a working cell phone (smartphone) number or an email address to receive the verification code. Click SUBMIT again. Our recommendation is to use your smartphone to get a text with the code, it’s just easier.Â
You will receive a link to set up a Kia Owner’s Portal – the directions for that will be clearly laid out on your phone’s screen. After completing the portal account setup, you will get a verification code that will need to be entered into the touchscreen interface.Â
What can I do with UVO?
Did you know that UVO stands for ‘Your Voice?’ One of the features offered by the technology is a voice-activated assistant. You will need to locate the UVO panel in your vehicle. Later Kia models with this equipment will have it located on the roof. This panel will have three buttons with three different functions.
• The button furthest to the left will have a lower-case ‘I’ in a circle that will tell you about available UVO features.Â
• The UVO button in the center will connect you to the search function to find points of interest like restaurants.Â
• The button furthest to the right will have a red phone in a red triangle that will connect you to roadside assistance.Â
